Leopard Geckos are native to the rocky, arid regions of Afghanistan. They are nocturnal in nature and will spend their days hiding and sleeping and their nights hunting for insects. As insectivores, they prefer a varied diet of crickets, mealworms, waxworms, hornworms and other appropriately sized prey items. Generally, this species is very docile and can tolerate handling with ease. Their simple care makes them an excellent choice for young herpers, while the plethora of available morphologies makes them compelling projects for more experienced keepers.
