HOUSING
The most important thing to know about housing Cresties is that they are arboreal.
Though the may rest on the bottom of their enclosures during the day, they prefer
a tall terrarium for climbing. Hatchlings can be overwhelmed by too much space so
it's a good idea to start them off small. Many breeders use critter keepers to house
hatchlings and upgrade to larger terrariums as the babies grow. A ten gallon tank is
a good size for an adult, but a 20 gallon tall tank is even better. There are many
enclosures on the market designed for arboreal geckos. We use the 12 x 12 x 18 size
for our adult breeders.

SHEDDING
Crested Geckos will shed their skin on a fairly regularly basis. You might
not see them doing it, but they will eat their shed skin. If your gecko seems
to be having a difficult type shedding its skin, or if their is dried skin stuck
to their toes, increase the humidity in their tank. If all else fails, a nice
soak in warm, shallow water will soften the skin and allow the gecko to remove it.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you might have. We are
happy to help you figure out what you need to get started, or to troubleshoot
when a new situation emerges.
